I agree - Chilliwack should never be in a division with teams that are 1 hour drive away for regular league games. I also see division where neighbouring teams are separated even though they are the same tier. Ie, Chilliwack-Abby should always be in the same division, if they are the same tier. It makes no sense (my u11 team has neither Abby team in it's division even though they are same tier....head scratching decision).

I read a bit of the schedule. Are these people mad! I am not taking a SUS team to play Squamish for Div. 2.
I am completely speechless! I was in Div. 1 last year with 19 teams and most games were within a half hour travel time. What is this league trying to accomplish by making everyone travel more and play teams all over the lower mainland.
Are we not trying to limit driving and carbon emissions etc. This current government wants to ram through road pricing. I can understand Metro and premiere travel.. comes with territory but Div. 1 and 2 outside of coastal cup play??

The team that won provincials in U17 is in group B this year lol ... shaking my head here
Same as the team that won provincials at u14 last year. Looks like the group B is a much tougher group than group A though so not sure on the A/B thing.

Not club-wide. U18 boys team did not receive anything. Still have not heard a word this year.

you weren't included in the email with the schedule? I meant club-wide the coaches received it....surely they included the u18 coach in the u13-u18 sched (they included me and I am u11 lol).

This is what I've been saying. Someone should start tracking registrations and monitoring it very closely starting this September.

We are Surrey United. My grouping consists of :
W. Vancouver

Squamish
Who the heck am I supposed to contact? Someone in Florida or California? This is insane!

As this is the 1st look everyone is having of the schedule, it's not surprising there are outright mistakes (wrong division, age group, teams folding, whatever -- not to mention the missing contact info, and outlandish venues (placeholders), etc...

The BCCGSL (girls) league scheduler had to fuss around and delay their schedule release for all the above reasons and more. And that's using a "mature" process & scheduling system. We hope everything will be running more smoothly when the girls league is "brought in" next(?) season :)

Your own club should always be your primary contact point so they can advocate your team's interests, and track/monitor issues that might be happening to your & the rest of your club's teams.

Lol. Contact your club. Inform them if you feel there is a mistake.

Many teams without contact into as well ... what a mess!

It seems like many of the teams from last year are missing as well. Maybe its just that my son is getting older (u17) and the teams naturally drop off. Kind of sad :-(

Also, it's going to be a tough season for the house teams being pushed up to play the Bronze teams.

Yeah, I was wondering why there was no Division 4. Hopefully they have properly tiered the Bronze division but I bet the first few weeks are going to be really unpleasant for some teams.

I see Bronze teams who were competitive against lower Silver in the past grouped with house teams who were at the bottom of their division. It's going to be a tough season for some.

Every year there are issues with tiering, grouping etc... This year is amplified for Gold teams as the travel has increase significantly for some. I think the Gold 1 Gold 2 etc creates some confusion for some clubs as well. Those from district may not know where to place a team... Really should just get rid of that. Go with Tiers starting with Tier 3 ( that is what U13+ Gold is) and go as far as needed, if you end up with tier 8 so be it.
I think there needs to be a limit put on early start times. Imagine being a team from Chilliwack having to play in North Van for 8 or 9am? or vice versa.

This much delay or lack of information doesn't make any sense. If the only difference this year was at the gold level, how can there not be a competent person with the ability to make a schedule on time? And if there was a delay, then why not only at that level? How does it affect everyone else?

Now, I have another question, and correct me if I am wrong, but didn't I read it stated on here that those who ran the Cascadia league this past summer had also offered their expertise in setting up, or rather managing, the fall league as well? Is is possible that those participated were happy to the extent that they moved forward with the idea? Is e11even management helping shape the bccsl? With GR gone, a void was there. Seems like similar issues that Cascadia had. Anyway, just thinking out loud.

E11even Management is not involved in any aspect of fall league scheduling or organizing. We were not approached to take on a role as others from the merged leagues had a plan to move forward (I believe).

From experience this is not a small or easy task. Many of the issues we faced were related to changes at the club level (late registrations, etc.). Nobody's fault but you can't organize/plan if things constantly change.

We're looking to take a different approach in the spring, ideally with the support of the clubs to move their processes forward and give us more time to get things in order.

I feel for those who are trying to pull things together this fall. It's a lot of work no matter who does it. Patience is key.
