So, this merging wasn't because everyone wanted to be friends. It is out of necessity. Tri-Cities left D5. Without them D5 was left with an insufficient amount of teams. D5 had to merge. Right now D4 is in charge as per BC Soccer, so if anything, the lack of information, such as results and standing, may be affected as is their Modus Operandi. Next year there should be elections.

As for GotSoccer, I was told they are in the states, Florida to be specific, and have been affected by the extreme weather (maybe underwater or sand right now), so there is a bit of understanding needed about the lack of proper scheduling I guess.

Thanks for that information - looking at their contact information on their website, Gotsoccer do appear to be in Jacksonville, so that sounds like that may well be the problem.

I think the main issue is more the lack of communication regarding this matter. If an email blast or website update from the league had been posted explaining the situation relating to the events in Florida there would be a lot more understanding and patience. The frustration (at least on my end) is being completely in the dark until Wednesday regarding whether games will actually be proceeding at the weekend or not.

Lol. Since when is anything written on this board put in writing from any league prior to being posted. Tri Cities was a huge part of d5. And if you follow the conversations on here you can follow the crumbs. But yes, I heard it from a person in the know and you can feel free to take is a rumor if you feel so fit.

Isn't that the definition of a rumour?

Agreed. Looking at U13 div1 from last year the removal of Tri cities would have turned and 18 team league into a 13 team league . still more than enough, in fact if anything it would have created a more balanced schedule in that everyone could play once...would have saved $24 in tolls last year...

exactly - indeed, 18 team leagues make zero sense. Smaller divisions, play everyone in your division once (or twice, egad!) and then do crossovers if needed, and then mix everyone up for cup. Makes way more sense to me.

TKBC. I'm just relaying what I was told. Take it or leave it.

As for the semantics of the situation, and by your logic, the majority of things we say on here are rumors and personal opinion, which you have a lot of it seems. Which is fine. But it's a discussion board so if not to discuss hypotheticals, rumors, and opinion, then what is the point? We are all in the dark right now due to lack of information, so there isn't much more to do right now then guess.

Their website is running fine, and no news posted on site re issues.

We just got a schedule ! Not showing up yet on d4 but our club has sent out our home game schedule soccer finally!

Important to note that only the home and away teams listed are fact. Fields and times are not...more like place holder info.

For instance, our U17 Div 1 team is scheduled to play Sunday away to Kerrisdale...on a Maple Ridge field.

Find out who you're playing, and touch base with them re: field and time!

Feels good to be able to say...it's game time!

That schedule is a freight train wreck and is completely unfinished. Look at U12 Gold 1A - West. The NVFC teams only have 1 game scheduled. They have Marpole FC playing home games at South Surrey. They have 7am start times for Westburn in Surrey?

Even with TAGS we mostly ignored game info other than opponent and whether it was home or away. This info always came to me from the club or opposing team. So far not sure if they plan to use gotsoccer for this or the old fashioned way. As Rich said, don't use the schedule for that info right now.

That's too funny. Kerrisdale hasn't existed for what....7 years or so!

Nice to see a schedule done. Received a club-wide message from the club president yesterday (I think?) and I think she's also league president? Or maybe district pres, not sure. Anyway, her explanations for the delay in schedule made a lot of sense - IMO they rushed it. Though that president encouraged they go much slower than they did end up going.

Anyway, so it begins - 13 year olds driving over 100km each way for a regular league game at the third tier (4th tier depending on how you view that MSL has division A and division B) level. Astonishing to me - someone should start tracking player registrations from this day forward....My prediction: By year 3 of this merger the gold divisions will be separated geographically.

This is how we felt about Chilliwack at u13/14. Ha!!

Seriously though, I would have liked a little bit of travel at Div 2 as well. Break up the monotony a bit.
