Can someone tell me the Tier 1 and Tier 2 meanings? Is it basically say U11 Gold vs Silver?

I am in Fraser Valley. Our u11-12 are called Tier 1 and Tier 2 (then house/rec is tier 3 but play in a different league with much less travel).

I guess I could have checked the rules myself. In 3 District the max number is 14. It doesn't say what minimum is, so I guess any number below that which also ensures a team can field the minimum number of players each game. But since I am hearing we are joining BCCSL next year for u11-12 (which is ridiculous IMO....) this rule is probably not relevant anymore.

Minimum roster of 12 for u11-12 in BCCSL is one of the dumbest rules I've ever seen. What if your club only has 10 or 11 players suitable for a level of play? You are forced to take players to play in a league they aren't suited for....and we wonder why kids quit soccer. Feel free to quote me. But to have a max roster of 16 is even dumber....who in their right mind would pick 16 for a u11-12 team that plays 8v8!?!?

Of course you can start a game with less players, but not more. The limitations are for registering your team with the district.

I am looking at our clubs roster for the Cascadia Soccer League and we have 2 x U11 teams with 13players each(Tier 1 and Tier 2) in a 8v8 format.

Reading the BCCSL rules (in the event we do join). I am very encouraged with the "fluid rosters" rule though!!! (page 16 of the rules).

What document showed you that roster size rule? Your pic suggests it's a BC Soccer document. I just reviewed the BCSA Small Sided referee rule book (and found an insane free kick rule by the way - but that's a different discussion lol) and it makes no mention of roster sizes.

I googled within BCSA's site and didn't find any documents to read about Super 8 (which is odd) - which means I probably didn't search properly.

Can you point me toward it?

13 is fine - if the rule is min 12 and max 16. I personally wouldn't recommend carrying 13 for 8v8 because it makes playing time a bit more difficult....but it's fine for the rules.

I think you are reading an old document? Because the one on the BCSA site says it was revised October 2017. And is different than the one you've shared. The one on the BCSA site itself surely is the most current? I hope.....lol

You are right the document was updated and it only shows 14 as maximum now for u11/12.

Appendix b.

Appendix B makes no mention of roster sizes. Have I not had enough coffee today?

14 is too many, but it's more sensible than 16. I want to select 13-14 for tier 2 so I can use the fluid roster rule (if my district joins BCCSL) with my tier 2 team (that coach also wants this to happen) - so I can give different tier 2 players chances at tier 1.

How many versions of the same document do they have?? That makes 3 so far. Just from navigating the site.

Crazy.

Anyway. I give up. Lol

Apparently our club had lots of late sign ins for Cascadia LeGe play so now we got 3teams Tier 1-3....12players per team.

One of the weird rules is you cannot have more than one team per Yr/Tier....

Which makes our Tier 3 Team(let’s say Bronze) not really in the right place as they more like Silver...
