Good question. Usually first weekend is playdowns. Do we still have playdowns this year?

If I had to guess I would say the top 2 or 3 would be bumped up and the remaining split into groups of 6teams.

Dist 5 made major mistakes by not implementing tierring as per their date of Oct 31 . With the extended winter break they have lots of time to create new groups based on the teams appropriate level , but things don,t look promising with 2 different start dates published on their site :(;):eek::oops::rolleyes:

Delta District has Coastal B Cup playdowns on Jan 7th. I believe Surrey and Tri-Cities (?) may be the same. Maybe that's why the one site says Jan 14? Just a guess, to avoid having a bunch of make up games for Div 1 and 2 sides?

The District Cup competitions have nothing to do with the Dist 5 Leage Championship series and once again the info is incorrect with 2 different starting dates in Jan ????

Delta have their own District Cup - scheduled, organized by Delta Dist
Surrey District Cup is called Sandra Cup - scheduled, organized by SMSA [ Surrey Metro Soccer Association]

Right, each district has their own PLAYDOWNS to determine their entries into Coastal B Cup. Those, in Delta, are Jan 7, 21 and Feb 11. I understood that a couple other districts had the same dates. Maybe I'm wrong, I honestly can't be arsed to check.

Obviously these are different then League Championship series...thus my guess that the 5-District games may be pushed to Jan 14 so the district playdown games could happen, without conflict.

The "league calendar" you posted was done at the beginning of the year. There may have been changes to that (shocking, I know )

You want answers? Talk to your district rep, instead of posting about "errors" here. None of us know any more than you do...;)

Wasn,t really wanting answers , just the correct info on the Leage Championship Series . Dist 5 should be more responsible and publish the correct info or is that too much of an effort .
For the sake of the young players of all levels i,m hoping more effort ,compassion & knowledge of youth soccer is used in creating balanced groups for the Leage Championship Series based on the appropriate level of the teams.

They do have something to do with each other - can't play on the same day.

Have you considered:
1. Contacting the district board
2. Running for a position on a district board

?

Funny how some rush to defend the Leage and make excuses .
Please rush to defend the teams/players that haven't won a game so far !
Coaches & Parents should speak out about the mismanagement in Dist 5 this season where a Division 3 has been missed out , re-tierring not done and now 2 different start up dates for the Leage Championship Series !
If those [volunteers or paid ] that are supposed to create balanced Divisions and place teams at their appropriate level cannot do that properly , then they should step down .
There,s lots of people including myself :) with deep knowledge of Football [soccer] willing to help create balanced groups to ensure all young players continue to enjoy playing this game.

Wonderful. Please let us know which board or club you are working in an administrative role with next season.

You have asked some important questions here. Have you sent these questions to your club director's, league or district boards? If you have, I would love to read their responses to you.

Im sure if he offered they would really consider him. Tara has a lot of experience with Akal/Ussl as a director. But this is not the place to offer.

I was thinking myself to get more involved. Who do we reach out to? Someone in our own club?

Bcsoccercentral was really neutered when they moved the standings from here. Its mostly just us rehashing the same old things. Its a shame because its quite annoying going to the district sites and seeing oops pages.

I don't see any excuses. You asked questions - I provided my GUESS as to what the reasons may be. I guess you know more than the rest of us then?

Div 3 at U18, and Div 2 at U17 were wiped out because only 3 or 4 teams registered at that level. Ideal? Hell no, but it's what happened.

My own club has teams who have been clobbered every game, and I have spent time trying to get them moved, some successful, some not so much.

Personally, I give the 5-District guys some slack this year, as it's been a steep learning curve being thrown into it with George's passing.

The new South Fraser District is accepting nominations for board and committee members...just sayin'

Reach out to your SMSA or 5-District Rep. Sounds like with the new District there will be various committees, outside of the board of directors formed to work on some aspects of things - maybe scheduling and tiering will be part of it, who knows for sure.

There is going to be a lot of work needed to get this running smoothly. Knowing the work involved from doing it at the club level, I shudder to think what District level will be like.

This whole thread is one big Bah Humbug.

People need to chill out a bit and be more respectful towards each other.

Morons.
