Sunny Surrey: Pacific United Suspended

I think the trend is concerning to say the least.

There are many 3rd party trainers in Newton as well. Clubs are basically operating as glorified equipment managers with less resources going to the teams. Its crazy how we need to look to hire someone outside the club to help develop the players rather than the clubs developing good coaches.

Then we have staff coaches on the payroll coaching the higher level teams, using club resources and barely any of it goes to the majority that supports the clubs.

Anyway, to the PUFC issues, isnt it more to do with an unclear distribution of funds than the relationship with an outside academy? And then that part gives me dejavu as BCT also complained that CCB also mismanaged funds.

I hope it all gets resolved soon.

This is one of the eligation BC Soccer have agaist PUFC even though PUFC have never hired Pro Touch because I did ask them for my Daughter's training and I was told that PUFC doesn't hire any academy to train they have their professional coaches and trainers. As far as funds issue I hope PUFC is true to their word as they said there is not even a one cent difference in funds and they said they have never exchanged funds with Pro Touch ever. This is a very interesting site to get to know about thoughts of our soccer community and my graveyard shift seems very short once I start reading this..

I agree, this is an interesting discussion to follow. It's a situation I have no connection to other than sometimes my teams would play Surrey teams. I remember when I was growing up and there was only SU and SFC (Guildford might have had a club back in the 90's?). Can't imagine it was a wonderland back then but those SFC teams were very very good (and I enjoyed winning a provincial league with them) and SU was strictly lower-tier. But at least everything was streamlined.

Just to clarify e11leven is not an Academy. They are contracted to do tournaments. They run the metro ford tourney and the sx cups. The other for profit organizations are academies. They also international tours and player management.

I suspect that can still be considered a conflict of interest as the owner is the ED of a club.
Maybe it is separated so it isn't a conflict. I don't know.

I'm not sure cfc contracts 11 for any if what they offer but I'm not certain.

The other academies for profit seem to have a direct relationship with a club.

I don't know if that matters either as consumers can go to any for profit Academy I suspect to spend their money so the competition will encourage better academies. Usually.

SUSC, SFC, GAC and what then was Whalley all existed in the 80's and 90's

ah yes, I was right about Guildford. I forgot about Whalley soccer back then. Anyway, all 4 of those clubs had pretty clear geographical areas though, so it was "cleaner".

Another classic rule change by BC Soccer, since BC Soccer have postponed the hearing of PUFC. Now BCS have changed the rule for observer who can accompany you when you go IMG_20161019_082031.jpg IMG_20161019_082200.jpg

Yeah , them 4 clubs were all based in 4 different parts of Surrey. Now with so many clubs, dirty politics is getting worse by the day. The banning of young players over the last year - CCB last season and now PUFC is an extreme form of dirty politics and innocent players should not have to go thru this.

Been away in freezing rain region of Canada enjoyed some good national champioship play .

Is PUFC still suspended?

I would have imagined by now a final resolution or decision would have been made but I also read somewhere here that it has gone the legal route by PUFC.

@Shawn - what do you know?

I also took a read at bylaws surrounding representation - with given context it is pretty clear. I am just surprise PUFC never read the rule and regulations before.

After reading the threads here from Shawn - you must know more than what you are throwing here in the forums.

We are here looking from outside in from bits of info you are throwing in these forums. Hard to be judgmental and feel sympathy.

Shawn - What are the real issues around PUFC suspension?

Socceroo when you talk to people at practices and games and Districts reps you can make out a picture whats going on around here in Surrey, its the hot issue since season kicked off. As far as PUFC suspension issues, all other clubs in Surrey, Delta and Langely are saying PUFC is clean except BC Tigers and CCB. And I dont know if PUFC have red all the laws hopefully we will find out soon.

That's a pretty bold statement to say that all the other clubs say PUFC is clean. What exactly does that mean and are you saying the other club reps that are speaking on behalf of those clubs have more knowledge than anyone else? Did Langley for example have a open meeting with membership and presented all the facts and a consensus was established with that membership to say PUFC is clean? And where is this information about club opinion presented? What a ludicrous statement to make.

Meeting one person from Langley at a soccer field that has no facts and an opinion likely is not a full representation of the entire club.

Well said. Exactly what I was thinking.

Langley is not even a part of SMSA. But it is my understanding that bc soccer has used people from outside our association to investigate or gather facts if you will. Last year for the CCB/BCT fiasco and this year for the PUFC situation.

Could be what he is reffering to.

All we are hearing from anyone here is rumour and innuendo and vague allegations that there is some kind of conspiracy against the club. It would be helpful for someone with actual knowledge to provide more details. Failing that its best that people don't post unsubstantiated allegations or opinions on what they think is happening.

Info comes from evey direction, its not like only SMSA DISTRICT teams have some info. In every district and every club there are connections here and there even in BCSA office. Truth is when information gathered from every direction it is easy to make out picture, of course its all perdictions and rumours. One question bugs me though, why its taking so long for BCS to find out what PUFC did wrong,

BC soccer website showing PUFC and directors along with Pro Touch suspended for at least 2 years .. some suspended for longer!

Saw it coming ...

I wonder what's going to happen with their teams... how they going to keep paying for their coaches?
