In my 10 -11 years since moving here from England , this has been the worst winter in terms of fields being closed. The snow has always melted away pretty quick in the past . All the fields @ Newton Athletic Park are covered in a very thick covering of ice/snow . thick covering of ice/snow .
We get these types of issues about every 10-15ish years - except in 96 and 98! (way more snow those years than this). A couple years ago it was brutal cold but not snow as much.
I've had games cancelled due to snow, rain, frozen fields . I can't recall there ever being a period were I couldn't even get a training session in for 6 straight weeks. This is unusual to say the least. Good news it looks to warm up the after this weekend
4d cancelled all weekends games. Maybe my initial restart quote of Jan 28 might be true. Though I think next Saturday will be the weekend with all the rain coming. Question is how many fields will be flooded?
SFC set up some futsal at BC Prep for us this Saturday. Looking forward to getting out there. But.......this fun game is against our arch rivals. Lol.
All NAP turf fields are still fully covered in frozen snow/ice , hows the other fields looking ? CAP , SSAP , Ladner & other clubs fields etc north of the river .
