Some of them are still on the Div 1 team , some may have moved to WCA , moved down to the CMF Div 2 & PCE Euro Div 2 teams.
But signing all those strong CMF players would surely make those 3 teams div 1 level as well?
U18 Div 1 only has 7 teams with the top 2 being Metro level teams . CMF had the strongest Metro team in U17 [1999 born] & their Div 1 team [1999 born] was the strongest as well - both teams reached Provincials...
For some reason CMF don,t have a U18 Metro [1999 born] team this season so most of last years Metro team are playing for the Div 1 CMF Apollo .
Only one CMFSC Div 1 player moved down to CMFSC Div 2 and I think only one moved to another club.
I do coach the CMFSC div 2 team so I know these rosters pretty well, although this was my first season with the age group as I was parachuted in when the previous coach decided not to return.
There are more than three new players on Apollo but only 3 were previously MSL. I believe 2 came from the NCU team and I played on an Adult team last season. There may be another that I'm missing but that makes 6 new players on Apollo.
I'm not against any of the div 2 teams moving up. My objection was from a couple of months ago when it was too soon to tell where the teams would shake out. It would be better to take the div2 division and move the bottom half to div 3. The top half excluding Langley are all reasonably competitive.
Those clubs did not sign a lot CMFSC players. Only one CMFSC DIV 1 player moved to another club and one moved down to Div 2.
Lets leave BCSPL out of this as that can be discussed in the other topic.
And here,s 5 Div 2 teams playing in Div 4 against genuine house level players. What a shame & disgrace that Dist 5 chose not to do anything as per their tiering deadline date of Oct 31. This Leage should explain why they failed so miserably - this is the last year of youth soccer for these U18 players and i,m sure the teams getting demolished will not have happy/fun memories of this their last season.
I have full trust in my soccer knowledge of the 99 born age group and can easily tier them into 4 equally balanced Divisions and i offered to help in Oct but got no response from Lui Rossi DIST 5 CHAIR View attachment 59
I reckon these people don,t even know how to work out standings . Coming from a Football crazy place like England , even as little kids we would look out for the Divisional standings & so used to working them out. If teams are level on points , then the team with a better GD will be higher - nothing about asking anyone - its just how Football standings are worked but it seems Dist 5 don,t really understand
Example - 1. 2011-12 EPL, Manchester City and Manchester United were level on points :
Manchester City won the title by having +8 goal difference.
Dist 5 rules on standings :
Errors in the unofficial standings must be brought to the attention of the District Representative within 4 weeks of the game being played. The 5 District League Board will make the final decision in all league standings. If necessary there will be a tiebreaker with the determining criteria as follows:
Most points in standings
Head to head winner. If no game was played between the tied teams then a final may be scheduled
Least goals against
Best goal difference
Board will decide - Don,t really understand the reason for this ???
