My younger U15 girl's Sunday game was cancelled early as their opponent's district had closed all fields for the weekend (on Thursday) and our coach/manager couldn't find an alternate venue here. So they have 2 cancelled LC games too.
Well, my U17 daughter's team had their last game on Sunday cancelled as both teams, officials, were at the field. The previous game had finished, all the while very light snow had been coming down. Burnaby closed all fields about that time (noon). I heard North Van had done likewise. Closures...

There are folks in my girls' club who are involved even after their kids have aged out, or not directly associated with the club any longer (i.e. playing Metro), etc. Some come back to coach or work on the executive, volunteer, etc...
I'll amend my 2017 question since BCCGSL was amalgamated into BCCSL this 2018-2019 season.
Any other soccer parents on this forum have only girls playing? <<<more crickets?>>>
Or maybe boys -and- girls?
Answering my old/own question - It seemed that George did not have an "exit strategy" (to use a buzz phrase) and presumably no one else had passwords, and no support contact either for TAGS scheduling software. The inevitable result was every club/league (that I was aware of at least) using...
Youth lacrosse struggles, a poor cousin to hockey as one of Canada's official sports. Registration numbers fluctuate depending on the year and kind of trend with youth sports generally I believe.
Field LAX is pretty popular in the US with good growth in high schools & as being added to many...
On August 15-26, 2019 - the historic Minto Cup championship tournament will be hosted by the BC Junior A Lacrosse Association, held at the Langley Events Centre (LEC).
Top Junior A teams from BC, Alberta and Ontario will compete in round robin play. \1st place team will play the winner of the...
Rumour & gossip perhaps -- although there *are* old threads on BC Soccer Central as well as postings (from before this season) on some club websites that said Metro would be called Division 1, the old Div 1 would become Div 2, etc... Something that did not happen after all, for I'm sure a...
The league's website has a PDF document at the link: BCCSL Divisonal Structure Overview and an example chart of the league divisions for next season, i.e. 2019-2020 with Metro & Divs 1, 2 and 3 like this year...

IMO - as @TKBC says "Royal City" is a great name. I wonder if anyone considered removing "Youth" rather a rebrand to the blander New Westminster SC name. I know they want to explicitly ID with the city & community, but I think there are too many unimaginative soccer club/team names. e.g...

The Royal City Youth Soccer Club (RCYSC) had it's 2018 AGM on June 7, 2018. Besides electing a new president (Geoff Ayi-Bonte) the club is dropping the "Royal City" and "Youth" from it's name and will be known as "New Westminster Soccer Club" or "NWSC".
