One of several changes this week in the BCSPL, MUFC is "rebranding" itself.
This is on MUFC's Facebook page (but not on MUFC's website yet (as of Feb 2/2020)).
And along with the logo change, it's said the club's primary colour will change from Red to the Blue (per logo)...

Wow, a soccer ball just in case we didn't know what sport we are supporting.

No kidding. But the whole thing is just.....my word, one of their players who happens to be an artist could have designed something dramatically better than this! When my club re-branded we looked at many different models, colour schemes etc. One of the board members happened to be an artist/graphic specialist. No chance you can tell me Mountain didn't have access to someone similar.

haha, although our crest has a soccer ball LOL.

A couple of posters here have opined the new logo as amateurish & unimaginative. Look below - MUFC's logo looks like the Colorado Rapids logo, so maybe the change was to differentiate it but retain the soccer ball, text & mountains for continuity. Now look at the 4th logo that I found on the interweb. It was done by a designer from Brazil but I've no idea of the circumstances behind Mr. Braz's design. Perhaps a personal exercise or project? Maybe commissioned but rejected?

Change for change's sake, that's what comes to mind here.

As for amateur remarks, well... that is bc soccer at all levels at the end of the day.

No offense to those in position of "power" here but seriously, everything over the last 30 years I've paid attention... sucks.

I don't think it takes an artist's eye to see that the Rapids 1995 one is far better than the traditional mountain crest (which is quite nice TBF!) and even then that much better than the current blue one.

I agree, change for change's sake because someone got bored and said "let's not only change the crest, but the colours - I use word paint pretty good, I'll do it."

They changed the logo, colour and concept due the knowledge of North Shore getting a BCSPL birth in the near future. MUFC wanted to make sure there was differentials within the two clubs that are located in the same region. Makes sense once you know what happened.
