Where are the 4 District scores/standings?

Hey all,
I'm the parent of a boy playing in U16, and this is my first year really following his soccer season. He told me I could see the scores/standings online and I checked them out only to see there's nothing there yet. Is this normal for the beginning of the season? Does it take a while to update? Just wondering, thanks.

I've heard there was not a volunteer in place yet in the 4D district to collect scores. Not sure if someone 'retired' from this lucrative volunteer postion recently or not ( tongue in cheek).Teams were told to submit all their results once someone was in place. Hopefully this happens soon.

Guys they head a female by the last name Thompson doing it before. I am not sure if they paid here to do it or not. Best thing to do would be to send an email to BC soccer guys regarding the question. That's who controls the hole thing. You could phone the coaches and post it till they get a person. Lots of people quit doing things due to all the paper work one needs to get before they coach or help.
Mr Branco is on top of thing I am sure he could find a person to do it. Till then help out and post what you know.
Scores really mean nothing it is about development of each player and trying to play best soccer one can.

Who the hell is running four district league ? Scores are still not posted. By far the worse management this year. HPL and MSL are more important than Gold silver and bronze soccer. IN U11 and 12 teams are still getting beat by twelve nill what sorting or balance. U10 kids need way better management and balance. Clubs like Wesburn, KLM, Killarney ICSF,South Burnaby and Cliff should not entering kids in to unbalanced program. As smaller clubs they should form their own div and play each other. The way it is now soccer is getting lower and lover level. Fist fight will start soon if BC Soccer does not step in and does something about it. Guys on 4 District board need to get off of their fat arses and do something to help kids out. It looks like we have to film the games and send the tape to Fifa before results show. To me it looks like child shafting in the local 4 district soccer.

I don't know how long it's been on the website, but there's a note from the 4D Chair asking for patience because the scheduler passed away recently. I'm sure it's led to mass confusion within the league. Have you voiced your frustrations to the league?

Metro and BCPL are all run by different boards. I don't think any are "more important", but run separately so what affects one may not affect another.

I have to ask: do you mean fights between 10-12 year olds or their parents? ;)

It wasn't the scheduler who passed away, he was the software programmer.

The same software is being used by MSL & 5DL

I think this season may be a bit of a write-off with regards to any improvements.

The big question is going to be what all these districts / leagues do for next season as they won't be able to use the same software. They should be addressing this NOW to prepare for next August.

Yup.

I'm already seeing issues with how the leagues allowed certain things to happen over the last 12 months as domains are expiring under George's infrastructure.

Would have been able to manage this much better if people would have listened to me, but I digress...

Well, if there is a change, hopefully it allows for more fluidity of team movement. And purple. It should be purple. :Do_O;):p

Well said.

But does raise a good point about governance. We have too many boards, directors etc running things separately. Scrap districts, scrap individual league boards. Streamline everything!

There should always be flexibility to move teams up down but Dist 5 has not even bothered to do anything.
Dist 5 website has a list of season dates and Oct 31 was when re-tiering was supposed to be completed .
Can,t believe how they have not been able to sort this out , there are plenty of honest knowledgeable coaches in each age group who would gladly provide feedback to balance out the divisions.

To say 5-Distrcit hasn't done anything is a bit harsh. There is no clear process in place for this.

The DYSA clubs (can't speak for the others in 5-District) were asked for their input. My club gave ours, and where our teams were concerned, there was movement. We had some other broader suggestions that were looked at but not concluded. If there is not a rigid criteria for movement (2 up, 2 down, or the like) then clubs - through TD's or Head Coaches - need to be proactive.

Coaches who should move up or down are not necessarily dishonest or unknowledgeable. Their priorities are different, or they have different beliefs in the capabilities of their teams.

I also give the league some slack this year, with George's health issues, and others trying to learn the system and take this massive job on.

District four has it's own group of people to do the job. The president of district four also runs HPL Fusion and Vancouver youth soccer.
No disrespect to a guy buy if you take on a job of president then do the job or get out. Forming big clubs to destroy East Side teams really does nothing for soccer in Canada. In my opinion bot president and guy running each age group need to do the job or get the hell out. All it take is one person to do the scores on the page. There is lots of people that would help. The group from West side wants to control the things yet they can not do the job worth of pail full of doo doo.
Any body that knows soccer knows that North van went to big club same goes for west side. Put them in one group to play each other. Put smaller clubs in to group and let them play each other, kids will have fun and learn how to play. As it is now all the blame goes on guys running the district four. Coaches from West side are trying to run up the scores to prove something all that is going to lead to fist fights.
I went to see two teams play last weekend. VUFC was up 12 nill at half time coach was trying very hard to run the score even more. Parents were almost in fist fights. In my opinion clubs east of main should form their own league and forget the crap guys from the other side are trying to do. Better yet pay a guy to sort it out at U11 and 12 that way kids will stay in soccer.
I am not a coach or a parent I am just a person that knows the game and can clearly see big fight coming up.
I will go and see the President soon to try to put some sense in his head. It does not take much to form a new league under BC umbrella I think it is time for soccer future.
