I know it happens, my neighbor plays BCSPL and is brought in as a ringer, and the other teams just know,.,
Still this whole concept of bringing in a ringer to win a Indo-Canadian weekend summer tournament makes me laugh. What exactly is the point? to have bragging rights until the next...
Surprise , surprise and the Monster shows his ugly head again, now tearing apart another club..... same people behind it all........ next year they will take over PUFC or is it BC Tigers FC , either way ........
Funny how these same people try to control the summer soccer USSL /USSA as well......
knowing the CCB group I would say the statement is very purposed ...Newton is a hostile environment , unfounded claims of self promotion are used to help keep support...
for starters clubs outside of Newton do not wander the fields during training sessions looking to persuade coaches or parents to come to their club, offer up empty promises and the like. But lets keep sticking our heads in the sand like everything is ok and on the up and up. Yes I am making...
I get that there can be all sorts of factors that contribute to why a team is or isn't being competitive. My point is more that you will find that imbalance in every division, its too consistent to be for other reasons. Clubs try to put teams in each division but clearly not every club has teams...
Hmm, I understand there will always be bottom teams. I tried to step outside the traditional thinking removing views skewed by my experience and through watching professional leagues. I concluded this is youth soccer it needs a different view, the goal is to improve the talent at the top end and...
What we need to be careful of is not watering down the system. As it already is the province struggles to maintain 8 franchises at the highest level, standard is often not met. There are too many Metro teams watering down that standard as well, people often sight the dominance of said Surrey...
The theory of SPL is correct. The best coaches should be coaching at the highest levels, unfortunately there is always politics at play, some coaches don't get opportunity , other deny it, even more think they are greater than any system and insist and building their own programs. All of this...
I hope for everyone's sake you are wrong, I however have my doubts as well .. What CCB needs to do is stop collecting full year registrations . Create defined programs for each season and collect for each separately like every other club does...
It really doesn't matter for what club or league...
I couldn't find anything either, would Whitecaps not be considered category 2 (highest level in North America) , Whitecaps 2 maybe a cat 3 or 4, NASL teams a Cat 3? If not then what level in North America is considered Cat 2?
assuming youth clubs fall under category 4 clubs, the maximum compensation is $2000USD, presumably that would be divided up by the percentage of time a player spent at various clubs,,, and only after they sign a professional contract
We need clear rules in place on how to handle it, there is currently is none. Still I don;t get the need for compensation,if player rights are not transferred, then compensation for what, providing a place for the kids to play who already paid a fee for the privilege to play there? Once at a pro...
Nice find from CSA., My point on BCSPL teams compensating each other was about who owns the rights to the player. I agree it makes no sense unless the team owns the player rights. What needs defining is amateur player vs youth player, I believe they are not the same.
Sorry i don't think its that simple, lots to be worked out, player status is very important in figuring out compensation. I don't think BCSPL teams register there players under amateur contracts as such there maybe no legal requirement for compensation, or at least this is my understanding. If...
Challenges I see with compensation are:
1. Transparency - who receives the compensation? how is disclosed , what doe sit get used for?
2. How to you value the compensation?
3. The idea of compensation is that the current club stands to loose something by losing the player so what does an BCSPL...
These 17-18 year olds all made the Whitecaps 2 Roster:
Matthew Baldisimo - Burnaby
Terran Campbell from Burnaby
Kadin Chung from North Vancouver
Thomas Gardner from North Vancouver - played last night
This 15 year old played from the Whitecaps last night preseason game
Alphonso Davies from...
To further the points already made. There are going to be days when young boys attentions are elsewhere, or the team is distracted by one or two, it happens especially towards the end of the season. Your mood, preparedness, etc as a coach will influence the energy of practice, some days us...
Yes since the majority of the scoring comes through the front players the perception is they are the team, but where would Messi, Neymar and Suarez be with out the likes of Alba, Alves, and Iniesta feeding them them ball? It is those secondary quality players that most teams in lower mainland...
