I don't think you can read into that. You could just as easily infer that Clubs without BCSPL teams have players that should be playing at a higher level but for what ever reason (held back, chose not to, not identified etc.) are playing a level below their ability.
I"d love to see the bridges built between feeder clubs but far to often its the feeder clubs that are building the walls. The petty jealousies between clubs really do hold us back.
MLS shouldn't be an entity unto itself, IMO. I'd prefer to have it abolished and BCSLP expanded to included a...
The balanced fee idea always get shot down by those who perceive they are subsidizing the top level "Why should I pay more so little Susie's team can have an expensive paid coach"). It also makes a potential for smaller clubs that don't have the added costs of MSL/BCSPL to offer lower fees thus...
Threads tend to take on their own lives just like normal conversation. Its not perfect but I prefer to let them flow and not force them into narrow categories.
That said, I know not everyone feels that way.
I took a quick read of the North Delta constitution as it pertains to membership and voting and it appears that it might not comply with the Societies Act in that in makes parents non voting members. I believe the Act provides that non-voting members cannot account for more than 25% of the...
Unfortunately, apathy among parents/members allows boards to pass most motions by inviting sympathetic voting members (they don't have to be life members as not all club constitutions provide for these) to AGMS. With low turn-out, it usually doesn't take a lot of people to sway a vote. Only...
I would say you would need to have exemptions for the District Boards and Leagues as well. I believe the Coquitlam Metro-Ford President is also BCSPL President for example.
I find it shocking that the parents paying the fees are not considered members of Richmond FC under its constitution. Frankly I wouldn't stand for that but I'm sure most parents are unaware or don't really care. I no the turnout at our AGMs have been very low. Only when there is a controversy...
I noticed on the Richmond FC website that there was a motion at the 2015 AGM to amend the voting class to include 1 parent per player. Was this passed or defeated?
That would seem to be in contravention of the Society Act. I believe each member is entitled to a vote and while a Society can have a class of non-voting members, the number non-voting members cannot be greater than the number of voting members.
May I ask what club this is?
Firstly, I assume you are talking about group A in your age group.
Winning the league championship does not automatically grant a spot in coastal cup.
" Boys B Cup: The Mainland teams in the "Round of 16" will be made up of the nine district champions plus three ‘wild cards’ to be determined...
For clarity training compensation is calculated on the rating of the signing club, not the training club so the compensation could be significantly more than $2000.
FIFA commentary:
"Calculation of training compensation
1 Training compensation is based on the training and education costs
of...
I think the bigger issue is that MLS refuses to pay when they sign a player European clubs expect to pay and therefore there is no issue collecting. The Whitecaps or other MLS clubs refuse to pay.
The compensation amount payable is defined by FIFA within its "Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players"
Again from FIFA:
"A player’s training and education takes place between the ages of
12 and 23. Training compensation shall be payable, as a general rule,
up to the age of 23 for...
For what is worth, I know Kaden Chung's youth club has attempted to pursue the training compensation from the Whitecaps through the CSA. Despite CSA rules saying training compensation is payable, the local youth club was told to forget about it. This is something that should be challenged...
Compensation is only due when a player signs a professional contract so your comment about BCSPL compensating each other makes no sense.
I don't recall reading anything in the FIFA rules regarding training compensation requiring players to sign an "amateur contract" although there is mention of...
That's where the thinking is too narrow. It's not about taking the stars and moving them into the residency. It's identifying players that can improve and develop in the proper environment. Your comments talk about players not in BCSPL but the 'Caps territory extends well beyond that.
"In...
Of course you cant compare the EPL and MLS but my point is this... Do you think there are more potential high quality players in the Whitecaps territory than are represented in the Academy/Residency? I suspect the answer is yes. So where do these players develop? The Academy needs to be...
