Why No Metro Players on BC Provincial Teams?

I think the lines of communication between coaches and clubs needs to open up. BCSPL coaches should have on going communication with Metro coaches, Metro coaches should have on going communications with Div 1 coaches , Div 1 coaches with Div 2 coaches and so on... For development to truly work...

Why No Metro Players on BC Provincial Teams?

Exactly it will never be perfect so is the current system that bad? It wouldn't help with costs but what if the private academies played a role on the regional PTP side, play against each other and the whitecaps residency. Then we make a true provincial team out of the best of that group...

Why No Metro Players on BC Provincial Teams?

i believe that kid would be found but it takes someone to notify BC soccer to make it happen. just as it take sa coach in the lower mainland to notify a BCSPL coach of talent...

Why No Metro Players on BC Provincial Teams?

Agreed... regional centers of excellence if you would. Isn't the girls side doing that? its a challenge in Canada as a whole as we have spread out population basis in a large country / provinces with very areas of density. you also enter in to a situation where kids playing on the Okanagan...

Why No Metro Players on BC Provincial Teams?

We can go back and forth all day on this.. Bottom line there should be open identification camps to give all a chance to tryout not just closed invitational camps that rely on BCSPL coaches for their recommendations. I get that BC soccer ideally wants its best player in one league it makes...

Why No Metro Players on BC Provincial Teams?

I also said there is a difference between an unidentified player and one turning the system down. This happens in every sport. To give the system the finger and then complain about being overlooked is pointless in my opinion. scouting is another issue. What I am tired of is listening to...

Why No Metro Players on BC Provincial Teams?

At the end of the day we have a system in place, there is a player pathway. One can choose to agree or disagree with the system ( that is a different discussion) , one can choose to play by the rules or not. To make a choice to not follow the pathway and then complain about being overlooked is...

    AGM,S , Constitutions, Voting , Rules

The really issue is board members are all just volunteers. Some understand how NFP and Society Act are meant to work most don't, some take the time educate themselves most don't and some have just enough knowledge to make them naively dangerous. They all have ideas , wants and agendas though...

    AGM,S , Constitutions, Voting , Rules

I believe this suggested rule has come about do to actions of a few, most can handle being on more than one board responsible and don't have alternative motives. Unfortunately though some do have other motives, and use being on multiple boards to take over, or merge etc... The stuff in Newton...

Hmm , good point. I was thinking of a particular issue but you are right, woul dneed to be revised to "except for the district board '

    AGM,S , Constitutions, Voting , Rules

this is great, here is one thing currently optional but probably should be mandatory given last summer: [OPTIONAL] 11) A Director of the Club may not hold an elected position, for more than 60 days after election to any other soccer organization’s board.

More Winter Clubs in Surrey ??

4000 is Coastal FC membership which does not include Ladner, TSA or North Delta membership but yes they could sign players from those clubs . That area of south Surrey especially around Morgan Creek and area has had huge population growth , and mainly young families, plus the fact they can draw...

More Winter Clubs in Surrey ??

GAC has 1200-1500 , there are advantages to the smaller club as well as disadvantages. One such disadvantage is the ability to field teams in each division for ever age group, which puts a bump in the development pathway, big jump from house to Div 2 or Div 3 to Div 1 as an example..

More Winter Clubs in Surrey ??

At its peak CCB was just over 3000. Surrey United is 3000+ I believe. Both Coastal and Surrey United have seen growth over the past few years, one reason is the introduction of U4 and U5 and expanded Adult offerings but i think the main reason is well organized clubs that draw people to them...

More Winter Clubs in Surrey ??

Coastal hit 4000 this year their catchment is Delta district which includes ( underline would be 'coastal FC area which actually includes White Rock) from DYSA constitution: the Municipality of Delta, that area of Surrey bounded by 40th Avenue on the north, 196th Street on the east, the 49th...

    Academic performance and Soccer.

Its good discussion, and a topic that sits right on the edge. I don't think the child should be punished by the team for the chosen actions of the parent. In a case like this the parent would have made a serious decision knowing full well what was at stake which speaks volumes. Does it suck for...

More Winter Clubs in Surrey ??

I agree these two clubs of the best around , my point was more as these clubs grow I could see a split happening, can't keep everyone happy and someone will eventually someone will try an offer an alternative. and just cause...Coastal is what use to be Peace Arch , South Fraser and Semiahmoo...

    Academic performance and Soccer.

i agree there are other factors, I also agree that physical activity usually leads to better grades. Bottom line we are not the parent of this child and do not have full understanding of the circumstances. If he misses a practice or too yes hi splaying time will reflect that. If the parent...

    Academic performance and Soccer.

I think this parent is making the point that doing well in school is more important than any sport or any other activity for that matter, and that is hard to argue with. It probably has more to do with the time commitment than anything. If my child was consistently not completing homework...

More Winter Clubs in Surrey ??

SU, GAC, CCB, SFC and PU are the 5 Surrey Clubs, Coastal plays out of Delta District. SGU is Metro only and SurDel is girls only and runs out of Delta. I get what you are saying though you could also add all the summer clubs as well.... I could one day see another 1 to 2 clubs as SU and...
