Yes it will take significant investment from Canada soccer and the provincial bodies to get coaches properly educated. Even in the small communities and clubs i think we can get more trained coaches, in most cases these teams in small communities are going to be more recreational than...
With the current success of Iceland in the Euro Cup there has been some looking into what has made such a small nation so successful. One major takeaway the CANADA SOCCER needs to listen to is :
Large investment in coaching education and standards.
Ensuring professional coaches are teaching...
Guildford as an excellent program as well.
Can you expand on what technical program PUFC is offering that say Surrey FC and CCB are not? Derrick Bassi vs Paul Bahai vs Peter Malakoane ?
Both clubs are now accepting fall registration :
From BC Tigers website

From their Facebook page... I love this line: "It's been an absolute pleasure to watch these boys grow and come through our development program." - yeah all one year of it... still nice to see local kids getting a look if nothing else. If Iceland can beat England then Surrey should be able to...
There are many factors that can play into a 1 game result. Sometimes teams just don't match up well, styles of play is another. Even at this level there are teams that play more of a kick and run / counter attack than a possession based game.... Season standings were fairly close in most...

I agree, the biggest concern is kids being pushed out of their local parks by kids from another area. a cap of 3 out of district players per team is totally fair. BCSPL has to be open as not every district has a franchise.
Its unfortunate that politics are always part of organized sport, and its saddening when it comes to youth sport. Sometimes options are good, sometimes it only creates more problems.
The issues in Newton speak to a much larger issue in that community that goes far beyond the world of youth...
In Surrey whole teams leave because the needs of the teams are not being met. Usually that means the team wants to control who coaches, the player selection, training times, they want technical coaches or the ability to pay for technical coaches but they absolutely do not want o buy into any...
To further this , Fraser Valley Premier is a a club model with a district board....
What is Fraser Valley Premier?
Fraser Valley Premier is the name of the BC Soccer Premier League ( BCSPL ) program that operates within Preston GM Langley FC. In addition, all BCSPL teams play under the Fraser...
I think fraudulently was used loosely in this case, much like illegal and conflict of interest are misused words by many from a legal perceptive. In general conversion and in reading the statement I would say the word fraudulently was used to suggest money went missing.... or at least spent on...
I think the challenge with smaller more geographical leagues is most areas are not big enough with the exception of Surrey , and Vancouver
Look at District 5 U13 Div1 from last year 17 teams , if i try and make this 2 8/9 team leagues based on geography I am left with :
Group 1: PUFC, CFC...
I guess I take a different stance, I do not believe in the one sport athlete or forcing young athletes to choose. These kids are athletes and are good at multiple sports, high school sports can be an important but of an athletes school experience. Now school sports really shouldn't conflict with...
I coach a U13 Div 1 team , and I am wondering everyone thoughts on what is a reasonable commitment expectation for this level.
I would love for this level to be more committed but reality is there is a very recreational attitude among many of the players and parents. Kids want to play other...
I too live in Newton and share @easoccer thoughts. Its nice to play other teams especially when up to U12 you have played many of the local teams over and over again, gets to be a bit stale..
That said I don't want to be travelling around every weekend, perhaps more local leagues with intra...
I am not sure, if its good or not. Yes it is status quo for the girls, i think the South District was a necessity at one time due the amount of girls or lack thereof that played, may not the case anymore..
I do understand it from an administrative perspective. With the boys the new South Fraser...
Does anyone know what district or governing body Metro Select teams and BCSPL teams fall under. There are teams of joint ventures that are not mentioned under any specific district:
Fusion FC
Mountain United
Fraser Valley Selects
Surrey Guildford United
Delta Coastal Selects
To name a few...
