Yes summer soccer seems to be the common link.... its to bad the idea of the summer league and tournaments is fantastic but unfortunately full of corruption, greed and politics behind the scenes and is now playing out with the winter clubs who help promote the summer clubs...
I would say my experience mirrors yours, only exception I wouldn't say surrey based soccer I would say newton based soccer, particularly clubs affiliated with summer clubs.
So what happens next? IF PUFC cannot operate for two years teams are currently being run by the district , what happens to those teams?
Also as a side note there is one name I am surprised is missing from the suspensions... then again he wasn't on the boards...
I wonder if the whole permit thing is having the affect it is intended to.
I assume its purpose is :
1: to protect players from being poached
2: to stop teams using players to stack up against certain opponents
My thought is this:
1. Sept to Dec is for ranking for Cup play in Jan- March,if a...
I think there always needs to be perspective.
1. U16 Div2 WCA team has a large goal differential because they have played bottom dweller teams and feasted. The only beat Langley 3-1 and Chilliwack 2-1 . Like always how do these teams to against the top teams vs the bottom teams. Also what does...
Too high based off what criteria? If the costs were truly to high then these teams would struggle to fill their roster, this is not the case... I don't think a truly talented player would be turned away for cost , I think it would be worked out with the family. There is a sense of elitism with...
That is a great idea ,have Metro and Div 1 under the same league, start the year as Metro and Div1 - then re-tier for cup play into 4 divisions. I think re-tiering in Oct or November is pointless , when in January it all changes again for cup play, there are enough teams to play a different...
My point was before re-tiering make sure every team has played teams from the top , middle and bottom of the table. So as to not have a team sitting at the bottom but only played the top 7 teams and not against any of the bottom table or middle table and vise versa, them move the top and bottom...
Then why not just create more divisions, Really G2 is S1.
Have Div 1 through div 8 and call it what it is, not well you are a div1 b team , even better have
Rep 1 to 4 and community 1 to 4
I am not a fan of tiers within tiers...or dividing a tier into the top half and bottom half. ..
Here is a thought for re-tiering:
General rule of thumb is that a team one tier higher would beat a team one tier lower 8 or 9 out of 10 times.
So make the sample size 10 weeks ( would be just after remembrance day), any team with a record of 8-2 or better moves up , anytime with a record of 2-8...
how about moving a team from Div 1 to Metro.? In U13 boys PUFC ( now SMSA) were denied a Metro team, that team was built to be a competitive metro squad and is being forced to play div 1 were so far they have dominated 3-0. 23 goals for 2 against
If its the same game I am thinking about .... SU showed up to that game which is probably why its being protested. The refs were all there as well , who get paid , as such it should be a forfeit. . Ref came, gave the required time and ruled a forfeit. Game was on Turf, other games were played...
Perception is formed from either ones own experiences or through the opinions of others.
I left a Newton club for many reasons including no TD, lack of programming, being a development team with no additional resource and paying an extra fee to be provided said resources, lack of support from...
The biggest difference is the social economic status of the majority of the members of SU and CFC as well well as the demographics.
Also the stories are the same for those who feel they should have been selected to a higher team but weren't, every time a parent questions a selection they...
The challenge in having a Canadian league is our population is not big enough, too spread out over a country of 9300 km in length,. 35% of out population is in 3 cities ( greater area). What funds this league, who sponsors it.
Hell we don't even have our own professional hockey league.
Perhaps...
We left CCB during the fiasco two years ago, my son was playing Div 1, tryouts were over, teams decided already as it was middle of summer, we played Div 3 for the year and now he is back on the div 1 team. . as an example of what I was referring too.
Under normal circumstances I would say one...
Exactly .regardless of the level its always about fun, when its not fun anymore they move on... The only difference from one level to one below it is the commitment levels are a little less and so are the expectations.
