Changes afoot south of the Fraser

It won't happen, at the very least not this year. Delta District voted unanimously no. Rumblings out of SMSA (this is 3rd party, so take it with a grain of salt) is that they will return a no vote (split vote). Merging would be like slapping a bandaid onto an infected wound. Doesn't solve...

Strongest Goalkeeper in U-14 Metro this season (2015/16)

Or it could mean that the top teams keep the ball really well, and don't have to defend. The bottom team could have a stellar goaltender, but play horribly in front of him. I really have no idea, I'm just stirring the pot here ;)

    EPL 2015/2016 Season

Matip is fantastic bit of business for Klopp. He is tailor made for the BPL, and still young. Really enthused about this signing. Flanagan...if only that kid could stay healthy. Glad to have the attackers back fit as well. The thing that really has me keen about this side is how young...

Changes afoot south of the Fraser

The proposal is to merge DYSA, SMSA, and South District into one, boys and girls.

Changes afoot south of the Fraser

5 District is the league that the districts of Delta, Surrey, Alouette, Fraser Valley and Tri-Cities (??) play in. I think 4 District is the same. BC Soccer has proposed the new district be named South Fraser. If there's a way to make it more confusing...let's find it.... :)

Changes afoot south of the Fraser

^ agree. Right now only 3 out of district players can join a team. A merge would potentially open up more options for a disgruntled coach to move his / her entire team.

Why No Metro Players on BC Provincial Teams?

Sorry, this is what happens when I do this from work...I don't complete my thoughts. Of course, if you can't demonstrate a wall pass, how to strike through the ball with your laces, blah blah blah...then you either shouldn't coach, or you should have assistants that can. By "terrible" I mean...

Why No Metro Players on BC Provincial Teams?

I'm one of those who never played at a high level. Rec or Div 2 level through my youth. (dodging sabre tooth tigers on gravel pitches heading leather balls the whole while...) The coaching certification (Learn to Train, Soccer 4 Life, etc) is not worth the weekend it takes to get it. I've...

Why No Metro Players on BC Provincial Teams?

I also coach rep level, and bring in kids from the lower levels...I consider it my job to put kids into the levels above me, if that is what they want to do...never about "my" team or "my" players. For goodness sake, I already have "my" kids...I don't need to take ownership of anyone else's...

Changes afoot south of the Fraser

Not sure why Technical teams would be freaking? There is no reduction in the number of clubs, therefore still the same number of technical staff needed...unless I am not understanding your point? Doesn't the possibility also exist that politics get worse with a larger player pool competing...

Why No Metro Players on BC Provincial Teams?

@Tom Duley - Settle down mate. This is a discussion forum...do those who not agree with you need to get shut down? @4_the_kids is bringing up points to discuss. Not claiming he has all the right answers.

    BC Club Charter

Agree with above comments....it's a great idea that could turn into a waste of time if not enforced. Enforce it, and put consequences in place for clubs that opt out. It does have some great promise, but until it's in action...hard to tell what difference it will make.

Changes afoot south of the Fraser

Alternatively, Ladner /TSW etc etc have a harder time competing because they have a smaller base of players to choose from, therefore cannot stack teams like some bigger clubs can. "Stack" may not be the right word, but it's early, and our coffee machine is broken. That issue...

Changes afoot south of the Fraser

Ladner Boys, Ladner Girls, and Tsawwassen are merging for the fall 2016 season to form South Delta United. And that took a lot of work! The proposed South Fraser District is a merger of SMSA, DYSA, and South District (girls) I can't imagine that this will go smoothly at all. The proposal is...

More Winter Clubs in Surrey ??

All it takes to start a new club is 4 teams, 44 players. (according to BC Soccer). Any schmuck can start a new club based on those numbers, although it doesn't make a whole lot of sense, unless you are running specialty programs of some sort. Question is, what will this club offer that is not...

Best Young Players in BC / Canada

Carl Robinson seems really high on McKendry. He looked good with Whitecaps 2 until his injury. I think there are younger kids coming through the Caps academy / residency system that we may see crap VWFC2 or the big team in the next 2-3 years. The whole system is still fairly new.

    BCSPL v Metro Soccer v DIV 1

The addition of BCPSL to the existing pyramid has just muddied the water. Metro should be scrapped, that way you truly have the "elite" playing in BCPSL. Add a couple of franchises if need be, but no more than 2. Now some kids don't make PL, but they don't like the coach at Metro (for...

    Player Transfers

The official answer from BC Soccer... If the transfer and application for review are submitted prior to the deadline and the application is approved it will be processed. The bottom line is if the transfer is in by the deadline.
