Wouldn't Division 3 be "recreational" under the to-be Metro/Div 1/Div2/Div 3 structure?
I'm assuming BCCSL could follow the existing BCCGSL structure - for U13-U18, Div 1 & 2 for each age group are formed via tiering (competitive), Div 3 is formed by geography (recreational). Typically (in our...
BCCSL memo dated Feb 5, 2018, found on Cliff Avenue United (CAU) website:
Re: Greater Vancouver Community Youth Soccer Update and League Consolidation / Formation of the BC Coastal Soccer League (BCCSL) for U11 – U18 age groups
Indeed, like most of the BCCSL Operating Guide, that section came from the 4DL guide (see below). The 3rd sentence (MSL... also out-of-date?) was removed, and the 2nd one doesn't make sense without the 3rd, and also should have been striken or changed. The whole paragraph needed work.
Regarding...
The Wildcard selection/qualification process from the current (2017-2018) BCCSL Operating Guide is excerpted below. Seems straight forward except for the # of WC berths for each Age Group. Why is there only ONE WC in U13, U15 and U17 and TWO in U14, U16 and U18?

Current BCCSL rules don't require make up games of weather canceled regular season games. (A game can be canceled if both home grass & the designated alternate-to-grass (gravel) fields are closed/unplayable on game day). I believe the explanation is (some) districts just don't have enough...
An update, reading a *DRAFT* (i.e. subject to change) of the "One League" Operating Guide (merges in of MSL & BCCGSL).
In the League Scheduling section, the BCCGSL Guide's verbiage for traveling teams: "end no later than 7:00pm" and "to or from Chilliwack, Whistler, Squamish, Pemberton and...
I don't see a rule in BCCSL (boys) but BCCGSL (girls) require games where (long) travel is required to "end no later than 7:00pm unless agreed to by both teams", so lower mainland teams hosted in Squamish, should not normally anything later than 5:30pm starts. IMO that's still pretty late since...
Is that true i.e. "made to sign contracts barring them from playing other sports."?
I know of kids playing HPL who also play box lacrosse & ice hockey... HPL usually trumps the other sports when there is a conflict though...
Is any of the timing & stuff you posted - published on a website perhaps? Or are they from personal conversations or private communications? I should say I've seen an early draft of the BCCSL rules/operating guide sent to clubs for feedback, but a lot was missing from that version, and there...
It's funny to think it happening among younger, house league teams -- does anyone have experience playing against a "win at all costs" teams, i.e. who might try to stack their roster? Or maybe just a suspicion :-)
I don't think either of my girl's (house) teams have played against a "stacked"...
Regarding BCSA ID cards & documentation - my U16 daughter ref'ed a VYSA inter-locking (Vancouver-Burnaby-Richmond-Squamish-West Van) league U11 girls game yesterday. I checked their "Guide" this morning & saw BCSA ID player cards aren't needed (U11/U12 boys/girls) but team lists are (2 copies, 1...
Per hervb's 2nd sentence, the Guide indicates post-break standings will be revised by next weekend. Is this how 4DSL/5DSL worked? The girls BCCGSL re-tiered standings work exactly like this, but no delay to 2nd weekend, perhaps a gotSoccer issue/learning curve thing.

A revised...
For sure, and there was some posts about the outlying teams "meeting in the middle". The next question, would either the league or intermediate districts be able & willing to provide that kind of service (organizing & coordinating fields, officials, equipment, etc) as a 3rd party to the outlying...
With the Thanksgiving break coming up, let's hear if any BCCSL teams (at least those on this forum) have to report, i.e. scheduling or travel issues? Good or bad experiences to talk about?
On the travelling topic, after 4 weekends of league play, my U14 daughter's Div 1B team hosted Squamish...
The BCCSL website & Operating Guide specifically mention U13-U18 only. That being said, the BCCSL GotSoccer schedules *do* show U11 & U12 divisions but they all show "West" in their division names. It appears they are the U11-U12's from 4DL districts...
My kids play in the Girls league so I have no experience (yet, maybe next year) on this...
That being said, there is a GotSoccer App for mobile devices, and I assume you can do it through GotSoccer web site too(?).
From the BCCSL Operating Guide:

Hi Forum folk, so how did your opening day of BCCSL 2017 go?
Any scheduling, venue or travel issue? Or did the majority of games get played as expected?
And how was reporting scores with GotSoccer? I did a cursory scan (last nite) and only saw a few scores posted...
The "middle ground" ideal occurred to me for Whistler/Squamish-Chilliwack matches too.
Does BCSPL reserve a lower mainland field or several fields for an entire day or something? I believe the clubs take multiple teams (age groups) and pool transportation (bus) & when travelling? At least I...
