90 percent of coaches are volunteer. It cant all be bad. And not only that but I applaud the efforts of those who volunteer there time so that kids can be involved in soccer. Without them it wouldnt be possible.
I feel like switching my son from his current coach. That guy can be an idiot once in a while. Honestly I wish he would retire but his son and wife wont let him. Lol
But really, I feel that I coached my 15 yr old kid long enough sometimes. I have 2 younger ones starting out and 4 year olds are...
If your son wants to play metro, and if scheduling permits, try him out at a couple of local clubs. Then if selected take the time to decide what works best for you both. Usually you can meet the coach there.
If there are issues with a coach it definately would be something to think about.
Last year there was a lot of rain closures for those who were on grass mostly. If you had turf or the away team had turf you may not have been affected.
The year before there were several weekends where the grounds were too frozen to play. Usually it only affected teams expected to play before...
Dont forget 80 percent rule. I would hope they dont cancel, but as others said move the games to one of the 3 open weekends.

If the op looks over my posts. I also have a daughter. She is 7 though. I had her on a team last year. Fun. Friends. But I was kind of iffy on the coach. So laid back. Not too technical. But she played well. Scored goals, etc. I took her to another club in the spring and she was put on a team...
Thats where the confusion was. Prospect team vs academy training. I took it to mean a team that was run by the whitecaps like the older groups that are actually above bcspl.
So you are very close to coquitlam metro ford. Its not that big of a deal to switch there. Take your daughter to tryouts/evals in the spring and see where it goes.
If she is on a whitecaps prospect team that should be considered above bcspl wouldnt it? Also if she is on development she is playing the stronger teams at her age.
I personally woukdnt mover her right now. Maybe get some extra training at a reputable academy where they give her more focus.
