It's written right on the league homepage. "The BCCSL Head Scheduler is working on getting the league cup organized and will provide more information on that. First round of League Cup starts the weekend of October 20th, 21st & 22nd for U13-U18 – note that there are no league games scheduled...

It happened all the time in Newton. I wouldnt necessarily say win at all costs but in younger ages some times it's hard to get commitment so players are borrowed.

Overzealous or not. It is important, even if it doesn't always have the desired effect. Too many borrowed players but no real way to identify them. But also standings aren't usually kept so maybe it's not too important? I always liked to see them.

It's possible they broke out that fine tooth comb and are working on relevant results. We do have Cup next weekend so they have time to sort it I guess. Not a lot of changes were made so Im not sure why it was wiped in the 1st place.

In each previous year we had been able to keep some of our points. Stay put no change. Move up get a reduction, Maybe 50 percent. Move down, points removed. Opponent move up or down result wiped. It has never been a clean slate.

Does anyone else feel that some of the points earned should have been kept? Move up or down they could be prorated, but it seems kind of silly just to wipe them off. Especially if the majority of your group did not change. If not, why not just call it pre-season then?

To be fair the rule states 15-20 meters. I guess there are some referees that may need a refresher.

I'm with Rich. But I suggest a compromise. You take your group. Play everyone once. Then rather than play everyone 2x, do cross group games. For the majority of people it shouldnt be an issue. If you live in Squamish, Chilliwack, I think you need to be a little flexible as it is your location...

The "Let's Remember Soccer is FUN...." thread

Unfortunately too many parents live vicariously through their children. That or they become experts suddenly when their children start to play soccer, even with no prior knowledge of the sport. o_O

If they are matched up rather than not play they could meet at Burnaby lake or similar. They both entered the same league and should be prepared to face anyone within their groups.

My understanding metro will be phased out allowing a more fluid movement of players between spl1 and 2.

With so many objections, how was this pushed through so easily? Or was it just a matter of the squeaky wheels getting the grease? Either way, yes I agree, the missing of a week in our environment where weather will certainly take more is not the best outcome. And I hear talk of SPL2 next year...

In response to my previous comment, looking at the 1st weekend in u17 bronze 1 east, it was indeed very lopsided for some. Hopefully they will add bronze 2 after thanksgiving break for fairness sake.

There is, or at least was in district 5 in previous years, a 10am rule. Problem is clubs need to schedule games and don't always follow it. It's allowed as long as you agree.

Certainly, but in the case of balanced divisions the scheduler would not know which to put in group a and/or b.
