    Lost focus in micro development.

Its super frustrating, especially when coaches put extra effort into a couple of star players, but then those players move onto other teams or even quit soccer altogether. And now they have developed a couple at the expense of the team and now the bench is thin because those kids didn't get the...

    Lost focus in micro development.

Its also a different mindset here becuase there are now 4 clubs in this park. So if you dont give the top players the balance of the time then the parent groups pull those kids out and shop them around. So rather than having structure and teaching/developing kids according to ltpd we have...

    Lost focus in micro development.

Like I said earlier. Based on behavior, attitude, commitment and work ethic. Hopefully if you go out for development or rep that your mindset is correct. But in the case of everything being equal, except a deviation in skill, but both made the same squad, then my feeling is that each player...

    Lost focus in micro development.

I should be clear that this story is about 3 separate girls from 3 clubs in Newton. Not a single club or TD.

    Lost focus in micro development.

I have gone to the clubs when it was happening. Of course I made a fuss. They all promote LTPD, but they cant be bothered to enforce it. I am happy that there are clubs that do focus on developing young players and equal playing time. Anyway, I am coaching my kids and am doing my best to...

    Lost focus in micro development.

The people involved in these clubs have a stranglehold on the clubs and work in groups to maintain these positions.

    Lost focus in micro development.

I agree. They should get equal time. My point was in relation to the girls I know. If you are selected, and your commitment, work ethic, and attitude is good then definitely. I cant speak for every club, but my kids have been treated very well in clubs outside of newton as far as playing time...

    Lost focus in micro development.

They run a seperate league for development. PDS Interclub. Everyone else plays within club until u10 I think? Regardless, I have seen it everywhere. Winning has priority over equal playing time at all ages.

    Lost focus in micro development.

Through my years on the pitch, I have noticed a serious oversight in our development of micro players. As per BC Soccer LTD all kids should play in various positions with each given equal time. I am not talking about u12-u18. Im talking at u7 and up development programs. In u5 I coached 3...

Of course you can start a game with less players, but not more. The limitations are for registering your team with the district.

    BC Coastal Soccer League

Not bad at all. Since its a new league it would be nice if they either started fresh record keeping from this past year on or add the records from the districts other than dist 4. I would prefer the fresh start.

    Evaluations....secrets

Over the years I coached several kids from Bronze and then Silver. In that time I had boys who started with base skill but had athleticism and work ethic. I certainly feel a lot of pride when I think about those that jumped to Gold and even a couple to Metro from Bronze. At the same time I...

They should. Especially if they can improve by scouting the talent on your sons team.

    Best Academy?

He obviously has an agreement with sfc. And obviously its meant to supplement the sfc offerings but if I were running a club, Id definately want my td to have complete focus on my club.
