    Evaluations....secrets

Reading the BCCSL rules (in the event we do join). I am very encouraged with the "fluid rosters" rule though!!! (page 16 of the rules).

    Evaluations....secrets

I guess I could have checked the rules myself. In 3 District the max number is 14. It doesn't say what minimum is, so I guess any number below that which also ensures a team can field the minimum number of players each game. But since I am hearing we are joining BCCSL next year for u11-12 (which...

    Evaluations....secrets

I am in Fraser Valley. Our u11-12 are called Tier 1 and Tier 2 (then house/rec is tier 3 but play in a different league with much less travel).

minimum of 12? that can't be right... maximum of 16 for an 8v8 team? that also can't be right!?

    Evaluations....secrets

Because rosters are closed I am trying, in concert with my TD, to use a permit system for u12 this year. I will sign 10-11 tier 1 players, then sign 13-14 tier 2 players and call up 1-2 tier 2 players (not sure how many tier 1 players will sign at this point). The permit players will train with...

    BC Coastal Soccer League

That'd be great - but what are the odds District 5 kept historical records? ;)

    Evaluations....secrets

A program can't take credit for promoting kids to replace kids who quit. That's misleading. Having coached teams with 18 players I can say it's smart to go with 15-16. 18 is too many to ensure good playing time.

    Evaluations....secrets

I think you've put a nice story together here - but for every kid that moves up another moves down. It may be that kids moved from silver, to gold to whatever....but at some point a player at the BCSPL, metro, or gold moved down - although this might not be as noticeable because Fusion is a...

    Evaluations....secrets

My guess is they observed the u10's thoroughly over the course of an entire season. And, couple with that after years of experience observing u11 they were able to determine this!.....right?......right?......anyone?

    Evaluations....secrets

How did RFC determine they would have 2 gold, 2 silver u11? Why not 3 gold, 1 silver or 1 gold, 3 silver so on and so forth. LOL, a little jealous they can have 4 teams....my club can only get 2-3 at that age.

    Coastal Cup Wildcards

Your club will be notified. You can check the coastal cup web site as well - unless they changed the site this year?

    Evaluations....secrets

Evaluations will happen differently at every club, and within clubs will be different at ages some of the time. This is a difficult scenario, and it's unfortunate. The questions you ask are pertinent. The staff won't really have an answer for you, which is also unfortunate. I am a staff...

Sports registrations are declining in every sport apparently.

Protecting One's Own Turf - BCSPL and White Cap's Showcase

The last thing I am is a BCSPL apologist. But some retorts. First, you speak as though you have intimate knowledge of all the programs in BCSPL. My guess is you do not. If you do...prove it. My point is, maybe don't speak so definitively about such a wide range of clubs and ages. Say what you...

    BC Academy Super League(BCASL)

Assuming it fluctuates due to not every club have teams at every age. That's fine. Those programs will enter tournaments. Hopefully the league grows and stabilizes.

    BCSPL / Island Wave

If memory serves Wave have not been fielding teams over u16 for some time now as they enter their u17-18 into an Island u21 league?

    BC Coastal Soccer League

If they are doing assessments properly they've been given a list of names based on year long recommendations - then whittled down the selections from those. I would hope they haven't picked players at this level from a few trial days. I know what you mean though - I have a CM (u11) that is...

    BC Academy Super League(BCASL)

I think it's important to remember that a "good" academy (in the current climate) is not proven by wins (someone mentioned above some academies will want to show their value through W's). While posting W's in this league and maybe tournaments will encourage others to sign-up that hopefully is...
