They can't re-seed, or re-sand, or repair drainage issues in the winter, when the fields are either flooded or frozen. Our grass gets heavy use in the winter, and needs recovery time.

Most of Winskill's spring allotment goes to field hockey and slo-pitch. Surprising the amount of turf baseball uses. While Dugald has the slo pitch lines and dugouts, it's rarely used for that. THat's where most of our spring turf time is.

Fields are an issue, and probably the major one. Just for chuckles, I asked the municipality what field allotments we could expect to get if we moved to a Spring season. The answer was somewhere around 60%. In South Delta, we lose Winskill Turf all spring - we get zero allotments there due...

Ladner / Tsawwassen's fields weren't plowed. No need...we escaped the snow that the rest of the Lower Mainland got hit with....we reside in our own little weather bubble :D

Ladner and Tsawwassen's turf fields are open. All the grass is closed, as it's mostly frozen solid.

That makes the most sense, to move everything to Jan 21. Will definitely lead to tight scheduling with all of the District playdown games as well.

That's for real - that's Dugald Morrison Park at noon yesterday. We have a full slate of home games that I think should get played. I would guess that the other districts will probably see games made up up on the first makeup weekend, Jan 21. Unless the leagues just arbitrarily move this...

Those games on the 7th may be tough, as it's supposed to snow again at the end of the week.... I guess that's why they build in 3 makeup weekends.

5 District schedules are posted now, as are Delta District for U11-U13 house. Jan 7 start date. Div 1 and 2 teams playing Coastal Cup District Playdowns will have conflicts.

Reach out to your SMSA or 5-District Rep. Sounds like with the new District there will be various committees, outside of the board of directors formed to work on some aspects of things - maybe scheduling and tiering will be part of it, who knows for sure. There is going to be a lot of work...
