I agree with this, also agree with @easoccer's post that some clubs don't have the teams. Also, just to look at it from the another point of view...do you know anyone who wants to do the re-tiering and scheduling? I sure as ^&#(*$$^# don't... LOL!
Absolutely kids should play multiple sports, and I do encourage mine to do that. I just have a problem when there is a conflict btwn soccer and another sport, and the other sport gets picked every time. Volleyball practice over soccer game. That sort of thing. If that's the priority, then...
I would expect all players to be at both practices and all games, with the acknowledgment that exceptions (other than injury and illness) do arise. School, church, family commitments, etc. As long as those exceptions are minimal, and are communicated well in advance, then that's just life...
While the drive from Ladner / Tsawwassen to Maple Ridge or Chilliwack can be a pain (Kurt, I know I'm preaching to the choir here...hahaha) I still enjoy seeing different teams. I'd hate to play CCB, North Delta, Coastal and Guilford over and over. Nothing against those teams, I just like the...
That was not brought up, and I don't think they can dictate how a club's membership works - boys and/or girls.
There was discussion on SurDel leaving South District and joining either SMSA or DYSA, which would then allow those two districts to stay separate, but that idea was voted down.
The merger of DYSA, SMSA and South District is official, as voted at the BC Soccer AGM. South Fraser Youth District will be registered effective April 1, 2017.
The existing districts will remain until August 2017 for the purposes of forming teams for the 2017/18 fall season.
Every club has its politics...and the grass is always greener, etc etc. A few clubs have different voting rules in their bylaws. Interested to see how much scrutiny those are put under with the new BC Soccer Club Charter program.
@Jenn Coastal seems to run a pretty tight ship, I think they do...
Gotze would be incredible. Coutinho, Firmino, Gotze behind a healthy Sturridge? Yes, please!
Hector is really interesting, esp if the 7-8 million pound price tag is accurate.
Yup, Sciascia is that fella. I don't remember if it went to court or not. If my memory serves, his defence was that he put his hands around the neck - without squeezing - of a 12/13 old old, as he was talking to his team about choking off space.
Poor, poor decision on his part, whatever...
I know in Group C CMF defeated South Delta in PK's, and in Group L WCA never showed up for their match v. CCB.
I guess everyone figures the season is over, and there's no need to report scores!
We hosted U16 finals, plus our Jamboree...I was so done after 10 hours...:)
At the youngest ages you can get them starting to think about proper technique, like passing with inside of the foot, rather than the toe..but it's more a case of showing them, then asking them "would it be easier to pass if your toe was bigger? It would? How about trying..." But yeah...at...
Yeah, that's what I recall as well. Obviously the have fun, lots of touches part is bang on. Technique always needs to be corrected, but it's all in the delivery.
Nice find.
