The website for BCCSL - BC Coastal Soccer League is being updated, but not quite complete, and the URL is still 4district.soccer.com for the time being.

News and Messages

Welcome to the new BC Coastal Soccer League comprised of the Alouette, Burnaby, Fraser Valley, North Shore, Richmond, South Fraser, Tri-Cities and Vancouver Youth Soccer Associations.

If you are not already aware, the Lower Mainland District Chairs have agreed to amalgamate all eight districts into one League to be named the BC Coastal Soccer League (BCCSL) and will begin with the 4-District and 5-District boys in September of 2017. This will be a season of transition and more information will be forthcoming.
U13 to U18 Gold teams will be scheduled to play with the eight (8) districts.
U13 to U18 teams in levels below Gold will be scheduled to play geographically.

Note: We will be using Gotsoccer for our scheduling and the link will be circulated in advance of the season to all Districts who will forward it to their clubs.

Check out the BCCSL 2017-2018 Operating Guide (appears to be based on the old 4DSL guide).

Related: BCCGSL - BC Coastal Girls Soccer League is expected to be "rolled in" next, perhaps for the 2018-2019 season.

Same thing every year. Eleventh hour. The anticipation is killing me..lol

This, exactly!

I know it was middle of last week that we got final confirmation of the divisions our teams are in, so I am going to assume they would be building schedules now....hopefully more than a week's notice for first game!

The 4d web site is no longer working!
I think we will be lucky if we get a schedule before next Thursday.
I'm guessing we will have to get the "Got Soccer " app as well, in order to even see the schedule.
cheers,
Ian

Oops, my bad, there's an extra period between district and soccer in the original posted URL, here is the correct one: http://www.4districtsoccer.com

BTW, a Google search would also bring up the correct URL :)

Yes, at least one person from every team will have to get the GotSoccer app (or maybe via a web browser) as home teams are supposed to post game results...

I can't say for BCCSL, but the BCCGSL (girls) league will put out an initial schedule on Sep. 1st so BCCSL may do likewise?

Truth of it is, none of us here would want to be the ones who are responsible for putting a league wide schedule together.
It has to be done at a certain time, but that is also the time that clubs are adding or removing teams based on player registrations...so...nope. Not a job I would want.

Cascadia League used GOTsoccer for their scheduling. To be honest, I liked it, as each club was responsible for inputting field and times. It was super easy to use. Interested to see what it's like on a larger scale.

Interesting how it will work, as there would be more teams in the division, and if each team has home and away game, how will it fit with the same end of season in February, plus guaranteed missed games because of winter conditions, few times, like last year, no make up games as well. Would be smart to extend season at least to March to get few more weekends.

No league here has a balanced home-away schedule.

6 days to go before matches kickoff... Anyone have any idea when schedules will be released? There comes a point were players won't have enough notice to plan their weekend around their games. It seems this new league has inherited the disorganization of last year's 4 District League. I don't have any expectations for scores and standings etc. which weren't published online until the end of the season.

Its nice to know, but to be fair, when have we ever been guaranteed a game time earlier than the tues before?

its also possible we could be delayed a week. maybe we start the 16th?

each year there are circumstances which cause the delay. i think the merging of the leagues this time around is a valid excuse.

hopefully issues dont become commonplace with this new league set up.

Happens every single year in both d4 and 5. Can't imagine how difficult it is to schedule these leagues TBF. So many factors to consider.

The 3 District schedule has been out for a few weeks and in my tier have only noticed one change - the oppo coach already emailed last week asking for the game time and location. I told him I expect changes to the schedule this week - always happens. Maybe this guy is a new coach ;)

Tell your players to expect the game to be on the Saturday or Sunday depending on typical game days for your age/gender. If they can't attend the game due to a commitment, so be it. Play a "sub" or whatever. Life happens.

Just expect hiccups this year and life will be a much nicer place ;)

I've heard the schedules won't be out until late this week. Should give a whole day or two to plan our weekends..
