Well I certainly hope many got games in this weekend because judging by the forecast, there might not be too many more games to get in this calendar year...

So how did you do?

Its going to be tough at Newton. The grass fields are closed until Feb.

U16 played this weekend. Brutal. I get losing and Im not worried about it, but when a loss is engineered by a ref it reallys stinks.

Opposing player slips in corner of creese by touchline. In mud. Zero contact. Penalty. Goal.

2 breakaways for us, in crease, slide tackled from behind very aggresively. Cleats up. Yellow Card given, no penalty? Free kick to the goalie? Huh? 3rd breakaway player sandwiched between goalie and defender at full speed like its football. Sent flying No call? Ref goes over, completely clueless. 1 munute trying to figure out what happened. Did not even refer to AR.

Opposing team swearing and taunting. Calling our players bitches. Slapped our striker in the face. Nothing. No calls. We are doing everything in our power to keep a lid on our players. Opposing coach just sits back enjoying his players acting like hooligans.

Both SFC teams. It was our home game. What can you do in a situation like this?

On a better note. My sons u18 had 2 subs this weekend and were good for a 4-1 win.

Elton, that sucks...we play SFC next week.

Our game was the opposite. A few fouls, but nothing dirty or cheap. Just the hard working, maybe a bit to physical, type stuff. No hacking, chipping, hands up. Very competitive game against GAC, came out with 2-1 win. All of our last four games against them have been one goal games.

U16 boys div 2
Chwk played CFC White and won 1-0. Very uneventful game but the scoreline was about where it should have been. Another week with 11 players for first half. 12th player showed up at half time. Looks like this may be the last game before the break and the League Cup groups are chosen.

Wesburn U14 Div 1 lost their first game of the season in all competitions to a very good South Burnaby team, 0-2. Was a very good game but South Burnaby scored on their chances and we didn't.

Abby u12 div2 lost 6 nothing. Was only 1 - 0 at half time, was sad since as they started the second half the other team Royals got three quick goals and it seemed the lads packed it in. Played as individuals and started to worry about getting scored on not scoring. But that is how it goes sometimes. I think there were good lessons to be learned.

My U13 Boys had a tidy 3-1 win this weekend. Our opponent (a BC Tigers team) fought hard, but never really pushed into our end. They did exactly as their record shows...they score very few goals, but don't give many up, either. A game breaker up top would make a big difference for them.
As to our performance, it was a bit wasteful. Lots of possession in dangerous spots, but couldn't turn that into goals...that could present challenges next week against a tougher opponent. Weather was spectacular (early start), which was a nice change. One of our boys scored his first ever, so that was a definite highlight (and it was a beauty, at that!).

We've all been there - it's very difficult to remain calm in the circumstances you described. In this world of cell phone video cameras I have learned to keep calm (lol before any video's that I am aware of anyway!!)

With the breakaway maybe the ref assumed it was a dive?

Thats very bad behavior & referee should have clamped down and booked /sent off these SFC THUNDER players. Can,t understand why referees at Newton let so much go. I think i know which team that is and the coach,s name Bash .
It was both Surrey Youth SFC teams so you should report it to the club - good luck if they even take any action against the other coach  . SFC had the worst disciplinary record last season !

this weekend we got to play PCE (last year the competed with us in Div 2 and finished 1st with 12 wins 1 loss) they moved up to Div 1 this year like us. Last year we lost to them in the regular season but pulled out a win in the playoffs. This time around we looked strong for the 1st ten minutes, and gave up a goal against the flow of play. The rest of the first half we just didnt play well and were done 2-0 at half. Moved my centre back who is an explosive talent into the midfield which paid immediately in the 2nd half. 5 minutes in 2-1, 10 minutes later 2-2, and got one more to take the lead with 15 left. Hard fought 3-2 win. Proud of the fight back and effort.

on a side note anyone know what has happened to the SMSA Elite 01 team in u16 div 1? There results have been cleared off (we lost 3 points from this). Did they fold or is something else going on? This will likely lead to one of the div 2 teams playing up which will make the playoffs more competitive. I hope both the WCA and LUSA team get moved up and one of the bottom teams (ASA Lightning should be in Division 2 and were last year) for the sake of healthy competition.

I believe the SMSA U16 Div 1 team was folded. That's what our Div 1 coach was told, they were supposed to play them two weekends ago.
