    Hope this is temporary. Lol

I don't disagree with the dysfunctionality of the league (and leagues in general), please understand that Mr. Rossi has been 5DL Chair for less than a year. And he only volunteered to be Chair when nobody else would. It's easy to complain from behind an anonymous email account. Not sure it's...

Are metro coaches allowed to bring players from HPL?

If a player is playing on two teams in the same club - and not on a permit, then the club is knowingly breaking the rules and likely falsifying the second ID card. The system doesn't allow a player to be "registered" to two teams - even in the same club, and a District Registrar shouldn't issue...

Are metro coaches allowed to bring players from HPL?

All registrations go through a District Registrar, regardless of level. He/she would be able to catch any players trying to register twice. The BCSA system may not even allow it. I'm not sure if it's an automatic flag, or if it requires the data entry person (district registrar) to catch it.

    Sunny Surrey: Pacific United Suspended

Can't do that. A USL franchise would require BCSA/CSA approval. That's how the soccer world works. Power rests with the national associations and their subsidiaries (provincial associations in Canada). Even a private academy would require some measure of BCSA approval otherwise your teams...

    5 District League Rules

There's no time limit set by the league. But you need to get signatures and that can take time. Some districts/clubs might be more technically savvy than others to allow for electronic signatures. Time restrictions are more of a logistics issue. In our club, the rep says he cannot guarantee...

    RIP George Riddell

I believe this was George's second battle with cancer, as I recall him being sick over the last few years, but heard he had beaten it around this time last year. George could be stubborn at times, and he didn't suffer fools. But he gave countless hours to the youth soccer scene in the Lower...

    5 District Schedules for 2016-2017?

Lots of good ideas here. Anyone interested in volunteering to serve on league boards?

    Commitment Level

I apologize if any of these are redundant. In no particular order - just random thoughts from 20 years of coaching all levels. 1. Multi-sport should be encouraged, not restricted. It benefits the player. Which is the primary objective. 2. Training is where you earn your opportunity. If you're...

    Rumour Round Up

BC Soccer does not sanction clubs (except awarding of BCSPL franchises). Such statements are a fallacy. Only Districts and Senior Leagues are members of BC Soccer, and those members are responsible for sanctioning clubs. Academies can join BC Soccer as associate members but require the signature...

    The pay to play model

Good thoughts. Just add my two cents. Kits costs aren't as big a deal as you might think. Particularly for larger clubs. The clubs don't pay the retail price, they get huge volume discounts. It's been some years since I was involved in this end of things, but we could get a shirt from a major...

    AGM,S , Constitutions, Voting , Rules

If a club is a non-profit society then voting rights are held by members. Clubs define members, as they see fit, in their constitution. It's all pretty straight forward. In my club, membership is defined as parents of registered players, registered adult players and registered coaches. And yes...

More Winter Clubs in Surrey ??

BCSA is responsible for their members' compliance with the Society Act, as well as fiscal compliance. BCSA's members are Youth Districts and Senior Leagues. The Youth Districts are subsequently responsible for ensuring their members (youth clubs) are also compliant. The BCSA Constitution does...

    BCSPL v Metro Soccer v DIV 1

The technical director of this club can recommend any of these boys to the BCSA for consideration. And this club has utilized this method on the past. But if a kid is good enough to play in the provincial program then I question why he/she wouldn't be in the SPL. I agree cost has to be a...

Why No Metro Players on BC Provincial Teams?

Just to clarify, when I term Div 1-4 "recreational" I am not intending to label all the players recreational. The fact is that it is part of the system, and yes, there are players who will work their way up from the lower levels to the top tiers. I had a boy on my son's Div 2 team at U13 who...

Why No Metro Players on BC Provincial Teams?

I couldn't read all of the posts. So if I'm repeating anything, my apologies for being redundant... But there's a lot of misinformed generalizations being posted here. First of all, the idea that cost is a barrier to SPL is a red herring, or at the very least an unfair characterization when...
